About the Wills Hall Association

Members’ participation helps us to support projects which enhance hall life such as a sound system, staging, a portrait of Professor Phyllida Parsloe, a previous Warden, and more recently the chapel organ and the eightieth anniversary commemorative plaque. As part of our relationship with the Warden and students we value members’ involvement in giving advice and support to students and young graduates. Our annual careers insight event, held usually in March, provides this opportunity. The Association through the Memorial Fund provides student travel grants. We keep in touch with Hall life by meeting twice a year with members of the JCR Committee.

Every summer in July we hold a reunion and many former members of Hall return to Bristol. After a drinks reception we enjoy a black tie dinner in the dining hall and speech from a guest of honour. The Association reunion dinner is open to all graduates of the university and their guests. We also hold a London reception in the autumn for members and their guests. A similar reception is held in Bristol in early spring. We publish an end of year bulletin and a rather more weighty Yearbook the following April which includes articles from students themselves.
